Product Overview

Description:

This material consists of synthetic yarns that are dipped, saturated and sealed in a PTFE suspensoid that protects the yarns from chemical action. The PTFE particles provide a low coefficient of friction and a large resistance to chemicals and the penetration of chemical fluids. The material itself is soft, flexible and conformable to accept difficult applications, such as end plays, misalignments and shaft runouts. After the yarns are saturated with PTFE particles and finished, it is again coated with PTFE dispersion and a lubricant that reduces the need for adjustments when breaking in your packing.

Applications

Since the material consists of Synthetic yarn that is coated twice with PTFE, it is clear to tell it is most suited for chemical applications. It is best used within a general service where a clean and reliable packing is required and also is a multi-service packing in many different environments. Also because of the PTFE property within this packing comes a capability for high-speed or rotary applications, as the material reduces the running friction of the application.

1. Used in Rotary, Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as agitators, mixers and expansion joints
2. Mild acids, alkalis, aromatic and aliphatic solvents and a broad range of other chemicals
3. Steam, water, air, and dry industrial gases
4. Petroleum and other synthetic oils
