Description:
PTFE, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene is a solid polymer material that is considered to be one of the world's most non-sticky polymers. PTFE as a material can withstand aggressive environments, high pressures and temperatures and chemicals. It can withstand dry running that other elastomeric sealing materials cannot withstand. They are tough, impact resistant, provide very low friction, non-twisting performers over an extremely wide temperature range. These O-Rings do not stretch to fit like elastomeric sealing materials, therefore take special care when installing.
Typical Applications
These O-Rings are used wherever the chemical and thermal resistance of standard elastomer O-Rings are no longer sufficient. These are primarily applications in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and medical industries. PTFE is used only as static seals, such as on flanges, covers, etc. Resistant to the degrading effects of exposure to such solvents as acetone, MEK and xylene.
Do Not Use With:
Molten Alkaline Metals, certain halogen compounds and elementary fluorine.
