Product Overview
Description:
FKM rubber, also known as FKM is a fluoroelastomer derived of flurocarbon rubber. These o-rings offer excellent resistance to a wide variety of chemicals, weather and compression set requirements. They also have low gas permeability, resulting in a common use within fuel system sealing applications. Fluoroelastomer is resistant to a wide range chemicals, oil and heat. The outstanding heat stability and excellent resistances are due to the high ratio of fluorine to hydrogen, the strength of the carbon-fluorine bond, and the absence of unsaturation.
Typical Applications
FKM compounds are widely used in chemical, automotive, aerospace and industrial applications. They can help extend maintenance intervals within fuel and engine systems and provide a reliability for extreme temperatures for fuels, oils, transmission fluid and acid condensates.
Acids, Fuels, Mineral and Vegetable oils and greases, Aliphatic, Aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, Many organic solvents and chemicals
Do Not Use With:
Ketones, Steam, Hot Water, Amines, Polar Solvents, Glycol-based brake fluids, Ammonia Gas, and low molecular organic esters and ethers
