Product Overview
Description:
This packing style uses a special high-temperature Inconel reinforced fiber braided over a non-hardening core in a braid-over-core construction. The material is then impregnated with a compound that resists high-temperatures and coated with graphite in fine particles to act as lubrication for the surface material. To further it's construction, it is also treated with a sacrificial material to alleviate electrolytic action.
Applications
Boasting a high-denisty, excellent firmness and is certified non-asbestos makes this material excellent in use with steam turbines, motor-actuated slide valves and, in general, valving that requires high pressure and temperatures. It is certifiable to less than 200 ppm leachable chlorides, seals at lower torques and seems to last longer between repackings. It does not harden in servicing, which is ideal for easy installation and removal.
Typically Used In:
1. Any valve stem application that requires high temperatures and pressures to service |
2. Pressure Steam Servicing, Sootblowers, and Expansion/Exhaust Joints |
3. Most chemicals, mild acids and alkalis and high-temperature steam. |
