Product Overview
Description:
This packing material is comprised of ramie/flax yarns, contructed in a square plait braiding style and heavily impregnated with using either parrafin and mineral oil, or can also be impregnated with tallow. This material does not rot and features a resistance to mildew, petroleum, mild acids and alkalis which makes it an ideal packing style for marine servicing. It is easy to install and adjust and features a low friction and high resistance to cold water, seawater and cold oils.
Applications
Because of the lubricant used, the impregnation of parrafin and mineral oils and the resistance to cold water and oils, this packing style material is mainly used within shipboard applications or other marine services. This style of packing is also used within cooling towers, lagoon feed applications and also within oil field equipment (reciprocating and rotary equipment).
