Product Overview
Description:
This material is an interlock braid design using carded aramid yarns that are spun and treated individually with a PTFE suspensoid. After treatment, it is also lubricated with a silicone based compound to allow for an easy and quick break-in on the application. The braiding and spinning process for creating this, establishes a softer, yet tough packing that is less abrasive than other packings with aramid filaments. This material cannot discolor fluids being pumped due to no graphite being used within the construction of this material.
Applications
This packing style is engineered to handle a broad range of service conditions and able to withstand granular and abrasive applications. The PTFE applicant on the threading allows for some resistance to chemicals, therefore it can be used within chemical applications, however this material is widely used within general applications. It is able to withstand mild to moderate chemical applications.
Typically Used In:
1. Stock chests, hydropulpers/hydrofiners, beaters and jordans |
2. Sewage, water, digester recovery and stock pumps, mixers and agitator shafts. |
3. Pulp and Paper Mills, Steam (can be superheated), Brines, Air, sugar syrups and other abrasive fluids |
4. Slurries, Petroleum derivatives, solvents, mild to moderate chemicals, liquified gases and caustic sodas. |
