Product Overview
Description:
This material consists of PTFE/Graphite yarn coated in a high-temperature resistant lubricant and braiding in an interlock style. The material itself is formed using expanded PTFE in which particles of pure graphite are encapsulated within. Compared to conventional PTFE packings, the combination of PTFE and graphite allows for a higher chemical resistance typical of PTFE and the heat dissipation characteristics of graphite to allow for much higher shaft speeds.
Applications
This material is an excellent corrosive service and general service packing type. With a chemical resistance over the entire 0-14 pH range, this material should cover most of your chemical and corrosive applications. The exceptions being flourides, aleum, molten alkali metals, fuming nitric acid, aqua regia, and other powerful oxidizing agents. This packing material demonstates higher speed performance than traditional PTFE materials and can stand up in a wide range of rotary applications.
Typically Used In:
1. Pumps, Valves, Mixers, and Agitators |
2. Reciprocating and rotating shafts |
3. Most chemical applications (rotary and non) with some exceptions. |
4. Required Non-Contamination products such as Paper Stock, Feeders or ClO2 (Chlorine Dioxide) pumps |
5. The Following Industries: Chemical & Pharmaceutical, Agriculture, Pulp & Paper, Marine, Oil & Gas, Steel, Power generation, Municipal/Wastewater |
